Smart wallet. A new way to Invest for those who don’t know how or where to start
The Smart Wallet was developed for those who want to invest but are unsure on how or where to invest. Composed of ETFs -investment funds traded in Exchanges in the same way as stocks -, the Smart Wallet tracks an index, making diversification easy and exposing risks in a balanced manner according to user’s needs.
The project started when we identified that many of our users were facing challenges when investing.
Their difficulties were primarily due to a lack of time or knowledge to understand how Stock Exchange works, despite a clear desire to be in the market. Moreover, our research revealed that users were willing to pay for a solution, since generating an additional revenue stream was one of the main business’s needs.
We conducted a design sprint to develop initial ideas aimed at solving users' problems.
The entire Guru team was involved in this process, where we identified and tested solutions with different users profiles, categorized according to their investment knowledge level. We also conducted a price research related to the paywall to ensure our solution was economically viable.
The Smart Wallet was integrated into the new users registration flow and also made available as an option for existing app users.
After answering a few initial questions, we suggest the most suitable Smart Wallet for the user, allowing them to adjust the investment risk level according to their preference or proceed with the suggested option.
From January 2023 to March 2024, we tripled the number of assets under custody (AUC) in BRL.
In the first quarter of 2024, subscription revenue, which was one of the main objectives of this project, accounted for 76.35% of Guru’s revenue. Additionally, the company’s revenue grew by 163.16% from the last quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024.
